Beck is a freelance garden writer, lecturer, and photographer.
Garden
Writer Pam Beck and co-author Laura Peters published
their first collaborative book, Best
Garden Plants for North Carolina, by Lone
Pine Publishing in February, 2006. Pam has regularly published
articles in Carolina
Gardener Magazine since 1993 and is also currently writing for
Fifteen501 and Wake
Living Magazines. A member of the Garden Writers Association
of America, she wrote “Perennially Yours”, a gardening
column for the Raleigh News & Observer, for five years and was
honored by The News & Observer as “Tarheel of the Week”
in May 1997. She was awarded the Silver Trowel Award for magazine-writing
for 2006 by the Garden Writer's
Association of America.
Lecturer
Many gardening symposium attendees are familiar with Pam's charming,
conversational, and information-packed presentations. Click here

Landscaping for Wake
Technical Community College’s Adult Continuing Education Program,
she is a local garden scout for Better Homes & Gardens Magazine,
and currently serves on the Board of Advisors of the J
C Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Photographer
Pam's garden photography can be seen in gardening magazines and
books. Several of her photographs have been auction items to benefit
the J C Raulston Arboretum Gala.
