Change How You Garden

Pam Beck is a freelance garden writer, lecturer, and photographer.

Garden Writer Pam Beck and co-author Laura Peters published their first collaborative book, Best Garden Plants for North Carolina, by Lone Pine Publishing in February, 2006. Pam has regularly published articles in Carolina Gardener Magazine for the past 16 years. She wrote “Perennially Yours”, a monthly gardening column for the Raleigh News & Observer, for five years, and was honored by The News & Observer as “Tarheel of the Week” in May 1997. She was awarded the Silver Trowel Award for magazine-writing for 2006 by the Garden Writer's Association of America. Pam is an active member of Triangle Area Freelancers.

Lecturer Pam’s busy lecturing schedule regularly takes her to speak before various gardening groups throughout the Southeast. Garden symposium attendees are familiar with Pam's enthusiastic, conversational, and information-packed presentations, and often request an encore. Photographer Pam's garden photography can be seen in gardening magazines and books. Several of her photographs have been auction items to benefit the J C Raulston Arboretum Gala.

She is also a local garden scout and stylist for Better Homes & Gardens Magazine. She has served two terms on the Board of Advisors of the J C Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh, North Carolina and is presently on the Board of Advisors for the Arboretum at Johnston Community College.
